Lunch at Château Latour, October 2022

Chateau Latour is one of the five Premiers Grands Crus Classés (First Growth) under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The estate is located in Pauillac and it is owned by Francois Pinault through his holding company Artemis Group.

Chateau Latour has 78 hectares of vineyards including a 47 hectares portion near the chateau which is named l'Enclos and where fruit exclusive to the grand vin is grown. The composition of grape varieties in the vineyard is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Chateau Latour wine is typically a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, with the remainder Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Normally, the annual production is 18,000 cases. The second wine, Les Forts de Latour, typically 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, has an average annual production of 11,000 cases.

Since 1989, the estate produces a third wine, Pauillac de Latour (Exclusivity of Wine Gallery in Thailand)

From the 2012 vintage onwards, Château Latour does not sell its wine through the en primeur system but still sells through wine merchants.
