Le Dôme’s origins lie in the ‘garage’ movement of the 1990s. It is one of the few Saint-Émilion grands crus that outgrew the movement to go on to challenge the crus classés each year.Located next to Château Angélus, the vineyard extends over 3.24 hectares, with vines planted between 1960 and 1970.

The wine is a blend of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, making Le Dôme arguably the most powerful expression of Cabernet Franc in Bordeaux, surpassing even Château Cheval Blanc and Château Angélus which are both well known to have a high proportion of Cabernet Franc in their blend. The vines are cropped low at around 30 hectoliters per hectare, which is less than half the volume authorised by the appellation, ensuring great concentration.

Le Dôme gained international recognition not only for its exceptional quality but also for its accolades: it has received a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker for its 2010 vintage and consistently ranks highly in international wine rankings. The wine was also featured in the manga The Drops of God where it was designated as one of the “12 Apostles” of Bordeaux wines, further cementing its reputation among collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.

Wine Gallery has the exclusive distribution rights of Le Dome in Thailand and we are currently distributing the vintages 2015 (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker 98+) , 2018 (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker 97+) and 2022 (ranking not available yet but undoubtedly one of the best vintage ever of Le Dome)
