Visit at Le Dome, November 2023

Le Dome is a prestigious winery located in the Saint-Emilion appellation. It is known for its limited but high-quality production. The first vintage was produced in 1996.

Composed of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, the vineyard area totals 3.2 hectares.

Conceived by Jonathan Maltus and designed by award-winning architect Lord Norman Foster, the forty-meter diameter dome-shaped building of the winery looks like a spaceship. The building is partially submerged underground, offering natural cooling.

A six-meter-wide central atrium is home to twelve precision temperature-controlled winemaking vats and an oenological laboratory; to the sides lie cellars where barrels can be rotated individually for controlled ageing.

In Thailand, Wine Gallery is the exclusive importer of Le Dome, as well as two other estates owned by Jonathan Maltus: Château Teyssier and Château Laforge.
