Dominus, Napa Valley

Dominus estate is located at Yountville, Napa Valley and covers 50 hectares, with 41.6 hectares under vine: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc.

 

Dominus Estate wines are made with an objective of purity, balance, and complexity. Minimal intervention and restraint throughout the process of grape berry selection, fermentation and ageing preserve the character of the fruit.

Christian Moueix, which is the sole owner since 1995, chose the name "Dominus" ('Lord of the estate' in Latin) to underscore his longstanding commitment to the land.

 

In 1996, a new modern winery was built, and a second wine named Napanook was released.

 

The annual production is 7,500 to 12,000 cases which include both Dominus and Napanook.
